I am interested in several related questions about the brain: How do behavior and other brain functions arise from the activity of simple neuronal circuits? How do genetic variability and molecular diversity influence these processes? And how does molecular- and systems-level complexity influence the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and ALS?

Research Interests

Physiology of neurons and neuronal circuits; neurodegenerative disease; medical genetics and neurogenetics
