I have recently defended my thesis "The Knockout Mouse Model Reveals the Diverse Physiological Functions of AUF1" and I am about to start my third year of medical school. In our lab, we employ the knockout mouse model to study the role of AUF1 in mRNA decay, telomere maintenance, as well as other cellular functions.
