I am originally from the former USSR and I had always wanted to have a career in medicine. Through college coursework and opportunities in research I realized how exciting and cutting-edge basic science could be and embarked on an undergraduate project studying a protein related to Alzheimer's disease. My research interests have broadened throughout the med-school coursework and currently I am studying how chaperones interact and regulate each-others' functions in the Ron lab. Outside the lab I love to take advantage of being in New York City whether that's biking in Central Park or seeing a show on Broadway (with a student discount, of course!).

Thesis

Regulation of ER Chaperones: Regulated BiP-mediated dissociation of P58 from substrate and modulating BiP’s substrate association by ADP-ribosylation

Research Interests

Diabetes; Proteotoxic stress; Tumorigenesis; Non-oncogene addiction of cancer
